February 22, 2025
Welcome to Follett Software® 21.0! This comprehensive library and resource management system is accessible 24/7 from anywhere, strengthening the connection between the library, classroom, and home. We’ve incorporated your feedback to enhance Follett Software, making it even more effective for today’s students, teachers, administrators, and librarians.
What’s New in Follett 21.0
This new version includes numerous updates, particularly for Destiny Resource Manager, such as automatic updates and a unified user experience across multiple Follett solutions. These enhancements streamline workflows and improve productivity. To take full advantage of these updates, ensure you are using Follett version 12.0 or later. Some features in Destiny Discover will also require upgrading to Follett 21.0.
Now, let’s talk about these updates!
Enhanced User Experience
Our new user experience offers a range of benefits, making navigation within Destiny easier for everyone. Key updates include:
- District Search Tool: Quickly locate schools within your district.
- Waffle Menu Button: Seamlessly navigate between Follett Destiny solutions.
- Consistent Navigation: Maintain your place within Destiny while switching between sites and solutions.
- Updated Dashboards: Improved dashboards for school and district administrators.
These enhancements are designed to simplify your work and improve overall efficiency.
Microsoft Intune Integration
The new Mobile Device Management (MDM) integration for Microsoft Intune allows you to manage devices and reduce redundant data maintenance. You can use static or dynamic groups to select which devices to synchronize with Destiny. Additionally, you can map Extension Attribute fields in Intune to fields in Destiny, providing flexibility for other data points such as barcode/asset tags. For districts without site information in Intune, you can select a default Destiny site for new items.
For detailed setup instructions, see Overview of Destiny Resource Manager’s MDM Integration: Microsoft Intune in the Mobile Device Management Integration Help Center.
Reporting Enhancements and Friendly Reminders
We’ve added reminders to prevent unintended changes to resource template settings across all district sites. These reminders appear on pages like “Edit Resource Type Templates,” “Add Template,” and “Duplicate Template.” Additionally, the Current Checkouts/Fines report now includes the District Identifier next to the item’s barcode number in all output formats, simplifying tracking and saving time.
User Insights and Exciting Features
Here’s what excites our in-house Destiny experts about this latest update:
- User Experience: District- and site-level users can view the resource dashboard for an at-a-glance view of resources.
- Improved Reporting: The District Identifier field on item records is now visible on all variations of the Current Checkouts and Fines report.
- Intune Integration: Like integrations with Google Workspace™ and Jamf Pro, districts can now integrate with Microsoft Intune to automate data loading into Destiny Resource Manager.
- Increased Efficiency: Data visibility is enhanced, and automation with Intune simplifies the data-loading process.
- Innovation: Adding Intune to the list of MDM applications available for synchronization with Destiny is a significant step forward for Resource Manager.
